Good things come to those that wait, and sometimes you have to wait a very long time. Onenightintown wasn't winning out of turn when he finally came good at the 28th time of asking under a patient ride from Becky Smith at Market Rasen on Saturday night.
What do you put this assumed improvement down to? Well he probably hasn't improved, he has been able to take advantage of sitting off a fast pace where the principles have cut their own throats, and he has come through smoothly to pick up the pieces, whether this step up in trip has also made a difference is open to debate. Onenightintown has been a quirky character in the past, but on this showing he was a lot more settled in the race.
