We send three up to Kelso on Wednesday afternoon, where the going is currently described as good, and they have been watering.
On his second start after wind surgery, He's A Diamond was an easy winner on his hurdles debut at Market Rasen in March by 13 lengths. He failed to back that up at Carlisle when last seen 18 days ago, with the thinking being that the track may not have suited. On his Market Rasen success, and even with carrying the penalty He's A Diamond should be competitive again. He runs at 2.55.pm, in the novices hurdle, over the extended two miles and four furlongs, with his regular rider Brian Hughes on board.
Milajess got off the mark at the 26th attempt when winning by a convincing five and a half lengths at Sedgefield on her penultimate start, for which the handicapper hit her with a 9lb rise. Milajess confirmed her wellness by backing up that run with a second place finish on her next and latest start at Fakenham. She is a very consistent mare, and there is no reason to think she wont be involved at the business end again. Milajess runs at 4.35.pm, in the 0-100 mares only handicap hurdle, over two miles, with her regular rider Joshua Thompson in the saddle.
Hashtag Queen is a four year old chestnut filly who will make her racecourse debut at 5.05.pm in the bumper, over two miles, with Joshua Thompson taking the ride. Hashtag Queen is the third produce of her dual French flat winning dam to see the racecourse. Her sire is the middle distance Group 1 winner Silverware, who like her dam ran exclusively in France. Hashtag Queen's half brother is Burgundy Man who ran on 14 occasions over hurdles and placing on two occasions, recording a best official BHA rating of 125.
Good luck to the connections, Craig & Laura Buckingham, The Monday Club, and The Rat Pack Racing Club.
Milajess.
