FIFTYSHADESARESDEV TO RUN IN THE LEGER LEGENDS.

Ian Ender

It might not be a high quality event, but the Leger Legends race at Doncaster is definitely one of the flat seasons highlights. The race is the only event in the calendar for ex-professional jockeys, and this will be the 13th running of the race since it's inception in 2010. The race is run for charitable causes, with the money raised being split between the injured jockeys fund, and the National Horseracing College.

This will be our first ever runner in the race, and our recently retired jockey Alain Cawley who is now a successful jockeys agent will come out of retirement for the day, and have his first ride in public since he bowed out at Market Rasen on June 3rd, after winning on his very last ride on Rory And Me.

Fiftyshadesaresdev is an 11 raced maiden, but he has gone close to winning on three occasions, and a repeat of his second at York in May from the same mark as now is a piece of form which would probably see him win this. The predicted slower ground will not be a problem, and this straight mile should play to his strengths. The race is at 3.0.pm, and includes ex champion jockeys Kieron Fallon, and Seb Sanders, plus the Grand National winning jockey Sam Waley-Cohen.
