We send two to Redcar where the going at the time of writing is predicted to be good to firm/good in places, and the track has already been watered. We also send one down to Wolverhampton, for their twilight meeting.
Quoteline Direct is first up at Redcar in the 5.0.pm, Division 1 of the 0-70 handicap, over one mile and two furlongs. Quoteline direct has been in fine form on the All Weather at Wolverhampton over the last six months, finishing runner up on three occasions, but just failing to get his head in front. It appears that whether it is 10, or 12 furlongs he runs to similar mark. This will be his third visit to Redcar where he has finished second, and third in the past. The good to firm ground will be no problem, and he has drawn well, P J McDonald takes the ride.
Walkonby makes her flat debut for us in Division 2 at 5.30.pm, with Billy Garritty able to claim 3lb. Walkonby has run twice for us over hurdles at Catterick, and Wetherby so far, without getting competitive. She was a winner of four of her 13 starts for her previous trainer Mick Channon, and therefore starts out for us off a stiff looking mark of 72. She has drawn well over this trip which appears to be her optimum, but all her best form has come when there has been no 'firm' in the description.
In between those two races at 5.20.pm, Red Skye Delight returns to Wolverhampton for the seventh consecutive time. She has gone close on a couple of occasions, notably when finishing second under Hollie Doyle back in January. This will be her first attempt for us over the longer trip of the extended one mile and one furlong. She has drawn well in two, and our stable apprentice jockey Aiden Brookes can take 7lb off her back.
