AMBASSADOR BACK AT HIS FAVOURITE TRACK.

We have three runners on Friday, with one runner at Uttoxeter, where the going is currently described as good, and two runners at York, where the ground is good to firm, good in places, at the time of writing.

Ambassador was below form at Market Rasen last time in first time blinkers, which have now been replaced with the return of his usual visor. He is somewhat of a Uttoxeter specialist, having won there on three occasions last season, with the latest being from 3lb lower than his current mark. Ambassador runs at 3.55.pm, in the 0-100 handicap hurdle, over the extended one mile and seven furlongs, with his regular rider Josh Thompson in the saddle.

At York, Carnival Zain returns to the Knavesmire for the third time this season. His seasonal debut at the track in May saw him finish an encouraging four and three quarter lengths seventh, after being denied a clear passage, but nearly six weeks ago on his return to the track, he failed to reproduce a run as good as that. He is now down a further 3lb to 76, which is 10lb below his last winning mark. Carnival Zain runs at 5.30.pm, in the 0-80 handicap, over seven furlongs, with his regular rider Aiden Brookes on board.

The two year old Toby Two Scoops has his second start at 6.40.pm, in the seven furlongs novices stakes, with Aiden Brookes taking the ride. Toby Two Scoops looked very green on his racecourse debut at Thirsk 23 days ago, when after being slowly away, he was then outpaced, but to his credit he did make some late headway, as the penny began to drop.
