COUNTESS OLIVIA TO TAKE A BIG STEP UP IN TRIP.

We have just the one runner on Sunday when the five year old mare Countess Olivia takes her chance in the stayers race at Pontefract at 4.10.pm, in the 0-75 handicap, over two miles and one furlong, where she will be partnered by Andrew Elliott who has ridden her on all of her flat starts to date.

In four bumper runs and four flat starts Countess Olivia has yet to show any real signs of ability, and that includes her handicap debut at Thirsk nine days ago over 12 furlongs. The hope is that this considerable step up in trip could be the key.
