CONVIVIAL TO RUN AT HAMILTON PARK ON SUNDAY.

We have one runner on Sunday when our five year old mare Convivial makes the trip to Scotland, to run in the 2.55pm, Graham Lee who was on board last time retains the ride. Convivial ran her best race to date at Thirsk last time out over one mile and four furlongs, so the stiffer one mile three furlongs she will encounter on Sunday should prove a similar test, on the forecast good to soft ground, which she acted well on last time.

She pulled hard at Thirsk, so hopefully this time she will settle better, and get a faster run race to help. She showed a willing attitude as well last time, trying her best all the way to the line,so from the same mark, in what is probably a slightly more competitive race this time, she should go well.

GRANGE PARK RACING. CONVIVIAL 03 April 2015 Mount Nelson-Vino Owner-Grange Park Racing Xv1

One of the most affordable ways to get into racehorse ownership is by being part of a racing club, and we are very pleased to be training Convivial, one of the horses owned by 'Grange Park Racing,' who are one of the best known and most successful racing clubs in the country. They have had 65 winners to date, since arriving on the scene back in 2011, and always have around a dozen horses in training at any one time.

Convivial's Dam was the Barry Hills trained winning Mare, Vino, who was bred by the late Guy Reed. Her three offspring are all winners, with two of them having found success while being trained here at Oakwood Stables. Mountain Path won a bumper at Wetherby, before being sold on to be trained by Jonjo O'Neil, while Sherry stayed with us for the whole of her racing career, earning a BHA rating of 80.

Convivial made her racecourse debut in a juvenile bumper at Market Rasen in October of 2018, going under by just five lengths, and looking very green. She was off the track for the next 14 months, and has raced in another three bumpers since, she has also had a further three runs on the flat, on the All Weather, which means she now is eligible for a handicap mark, so when racing resumes she will be able to crack on, and hopefully emulate her family members.
