Arranmore is a seven year old gelding, who is the veteran of 46 previous races, having been in four previous yards, including in Ireland, before joining Micky last autumn. His overall form suggests that a sound surface on turf gets the best out of him, but his three recant runs on the all weather have hinted that he can also win on an artificial surface. The pick of his runs for us was on his penultimate start over this course and distance, when finishing second, and then on his latest start 11 days ago, he was just a shade below that form, when beaten five and a quarter lengths in to eighth also over this course and distance.
Arranmore runs on Tuesday evening at Newcastle in the 6.0.pm, in the 0-75 handicap, over seven furlongs, where he will once again have the services of Aiden Brookes in the saddle.
