It was another memorable day at Sedgefield on Friday, when Micky and the team were once again in the winners enclosure, this time with a double. Micky who trained his 100th Sedgefield winner recently, was presented with a framed photo of a selection of his winners at the track from over the last 30 plus years, and we would like to thank the team at Sedgefield for commemorating the occasion. Micky has trained in excess of 100 winners at Sedgefield, and Wetherby, and is fast closing in on the same landmark at Catterick, and Hexham.
MONAGHAN BOY 15/8 WINNER!!!!!!!
Monaghan Boy had finished runner up in all of his last three starts, but finally broke his duck, with a decisive jump at the last under Emma Smith-Chaston, which took him clear of his nearest rival, and although he idle in the last 50 yards, he was always doing just enough. Monaghan Boy has taken well to fences, and will no doubt continue to pay his way.
COUP DE COEUR 2/1 WINNER!!!!!!!
Coup De Coeur who was a winner at this track back in November, showed his liking for Sedgefield, with a 13 lengths success under the champion jockey Brian Hughes. Coup De Coeur clearly handled the soft conditions, as he was always travelling with purpose throughout, and although he will take a hike in the weights for this, he is clearly still on the upgrade.
