TWO RUNNERS ON WEDNESDAY.

We have two declared runners at Pontefract on Wednesday, on what is currently described as good, good to firm in places ground.

Lillistar who finished second twice and third once at Sedgefield last season, will no doubt be heading back there when their new jumps season gets underway, in the meantime she will continue her flat campaign in the 0-65 amateur jockeys handicap, over one mile and two furlongs at 2.30.pm, where she will be partnered by Becky Smith for the first time. Lillistar takes a significant step back down in trip, having ran over two miles at Catterick last time when not being disgraced in finishing fifth, she will wear blinkers for the first time.

Celestial Reign also ran well at Sedgefield last term, particularly when winning back in May, he will also be seen back over hurdles in due course. Celestial Reign had four runs on the flat when trained in Ireland, showing good form when finishing a nose second in a Sligo maiden in May 2024. He made his flat debut for us at Thirsk 22 days ago when finishing fourth, and now takes a step up in trip of three furlongs. Celestial Reign goes to post for the 0-70 handicap at 4.38.pm, over two miles and one furlong, with Aiden Brookes retaining the ride.
