Here at Oakwood Stables we have several different racing clubs, which include 'M.H.O.G.,' 'Oakwood Rainbow', and 'The Rat Pack'.
Being a part of one of the racing clubs is like being part of a racing family, where everybody gets together on race day to hopefully cheer home their winner. The Rat Pack has a team of four horses.
KNOCKNAMONA 29 May 2011-Bay Gelding Trans Island-Faraday Lady
Knocknamona is the star of The Rat Pack's string having won no less than six times since joining us in the Autumn of 2016. He has been rated as high as 108 at his peak, and is currently set to race next time off an eye catching 92. He was ready to win, but unfortunately because of the enforced break he will have to wait a little while longer.
THE PINE MARTIN. 31 May 2010-Brown Gelding Kalanisi-Regal Holly.
The Pine Martin arrived from Ireland in the Spring of 2017 and got off the mark at the first time of asking at Hexham, followed by a return to the track eleven days later finishing second under an eight pounds penalty. Unfortunately injury struck and we didn't see him again until December of last year. He is steadily running back in to form having finished third on both of his last two starts.
CRASH HELMET 04 February 2015-Bay Gelding Helmet-Hot Secret In order that our members have runners all year round we have flat and jump horses in the racing club. Our flat representative is the sprinter Crash Helmet who has been plying his trade on the all weather. He is very well handicapped on his three year old form when trained in Newmarket, and as soon as he recaptures that, he will be back in the winners enclosure.
NOMOUNTAINHIENOUGH 19 May 2015-Bay Gelding Mountain High-Nohabodder
Nomountainhienough is named after Tamla Motown's greatest song, (well almost,) he has had four runs in bumpers to date, two for us and two for his previous trainer Keith Dalgleish. He ran green on debut at Stratford, but showed ability, he is a long term project who will hopefully reward us given time.
