Kelso lost their prestige meeting last weekend because of the waterlogged ground, but thankfully things have dried out since then, and the 30,000 'GO NORTH CAB ON TARGET FINAL HANDICAP HURDLE (SERIES FINAL') has been re-routed to Monday, meaning that Singapore Trip can take his chance, in the hands of the champion jockey Brian Hughes, on what is currently described as soft ground, which will present no problem.
Since arriving from France last autumn, Singapore Trip has run on four occasions, with the standout run being his penultimate start at Wetherby in January, where he finished in third, from a 2lb higher mark than now. On his latest start at Catterick nine weeks ago, he failed to fire, after being keen early on, but maybe the sharper nature of that track caught him out. He has all conditions to suit here, and is worthy of his place in the 16 strong field.
