We send four up the A1 to Sedgefield on Friday, where the going is currently described as soft.
No I Didn't is a well bred unraced six year old, who will make her racecourse debut in the first at 1.07.pm, in the maiden hurdle, over the extended two miles and three furlongs, with Emma Smith-Chaston taking the ride. No I Didn't is by the top National Hunt sire Kayf Tara, out of Yes I Did, who was a well above average performer, winning five of her 14 races, and reaching an official BHA rating of 130 back in 2016. No I Didn't is her first offspring to see the racecourse.
Halpha Soleil was a decisive winner over this course and distance 17 days ago, for which he has been raised 5lb, and he will once again take on the second and third and the fifth, from that day, on slightly worse terms. Halpha Soleil is still lightly raced, and his current mark still looks good on his bumper form in France from last season. He runs at 2.07.pm, in the extended two miles and three furlongs handicap hurdle, with Emma Smith-Chaston once again in the saddle.
Royle Steel is two from two around Sedgefield on good ground, and showed he is on a favourable mark when winning at the track back in October. His one start since was when finishing down the field at Catterick seven weeks ago, a race which was run on good to soft. The worry with Royle Steel is that on all five occasions he has run with soft in the description he has under performed. He runs at 2.37.pm, in the 0-100 handicap chase over tho miles and three furlongs, with the champion jockey Brian Hughes retaining the ride.
Milltown Lily will make her handicap hurdle debut at 3.07.pm, in the 0-100 mares only event, over the extended two miles, with Emma Smith-Chaston on board. Milltown Lily has shown absolutely nothing in any of her three qualifying runs over jumps, but has been given a very good looking opening mark of just 78, which when taking into account her consistent running on the flat, would see her competitive, if showing the same aptitude for jumping.
