BODYGROOVE SHOULD STAY THIS MARATHON TRIP.

One of the most endearing things about Pontefract is their staying races, and we can proudly boast winning more of them than any other yard over the last 20 plus years, with great old names including Mr Crystal, Tuscan Gold, Becky The Thatcher and many more.

The going for Pontefract on Monday evening is at the time of writing good to soft, good in places.

It is now the turn of Bodygroove to try to add his name to that role of honour, when he goes to post at 6.50.pm, in the the latest renewal of the 'Tony Bethell Memorial 0-60 Handicap' over the stamina sapping two miles and one furlong, with Aiden Brookes retaining the ride. Bodygroove was the winner of a handicap hurdle at Wetherby back in March, and then unseated at the last at Market Rasen when in third, and followed that with a close up fifth at Carlisle from 3lb higher. His latest run was a slightly disappointing return to the flat when only beating one home, but now from a 3lb lower mark and up in trip he could be a danger to all.

Good luck to the connections, Mrs B M Lofthouse.
