We send three runners up to Hamilton on Thursday afternoon, where the going at the time of writing is soft, good to soft in places, with showers expected.
First up in the 4.50.pm is Convivial, who has progressed on each of her three runs this season, culminating in her half length defeat at this track last month over 11 furlongs. The extra furlong on Thursday will be no problem, but she is 2lb higher, the ground will suit, and Graham Lee is once again in the saddle.
Thirty minutes later at 5.20.pm it is the turn of Frankster, he too ran at Hamilton last time.He ran over nine furlongs, staying on well to finish third, suggesting that a further step up in trip would be the way to go.He will run over 12 furlongs for the first time, on the softer surface he needs, from a career low mark of 52, Graham Lee takes the ride.
Our other runner is The Retriever, who runs over one mile at 5.50.pm. He was running consistently before lock-down, having finished in second place in three of his last five races, all at Southwell, so the soft ground will be no hindrance. He hasn't run for 181 days, and the race will definitely bring him on, Connor Murtagh is having his first ride for the yard.
Good luck to the connections,Grange Park Racing Xv1, The Cobb Family, and RM&T Holdings Limited & Partners.
