WE SEND A TEAM OF FIVE TO HEXHAM.

The going at Hexham for their meeting on Wednesday is currently described as soft, heavy in places.

Bonne Vitesse goes first in the 0-110 handicap hurdle at 12.20.pm, over two and a half miles, where she will have the services of Emma Smith-Chaston in the saddle. Bonne Vitesse is a dual purpose performer who has been in fine form on the flat, but you have to go back to Hexham in November 2022 to find the last time she was placed over jumps. Her mark has dropped by 14lb over hurdles, and the ground and trip should not be a problem.

Worth The Walk will make her stable and rules debut at 1.20.pm, in division 1 of the maiden hurdle over two miles and four furlongs with Brian Hughes taking the ride. Worth The Walk has run in six Irish point to points to date, always finishing in the first four, and getting off the mark on her latest start in February. Her future will be over fences, and this provides a nice introduction.

Donny's Fortune takes his chance in division 2 of the maiden hurdle at 1.50.pm, over two miles and four furlongs, with Brian Hughes retaining the ride. Prior to making his stable and rules debut at Carlisle 22 days ago Donny's Fortune had competed in 12 English point to points, and winning twice. He badly needed that first run in seven months last time, and like Worth The Walk his future will lie over fences.

We are doubly represented at 2.50.pm, in the 0-110 handicap chase, over two and a half miles. The ex Irish Know The Game who will be partnered by Joshua Thompson for the first time made his stable debut in a much better race than this over hurdles at Wetherby 39 days ago, and will find this much more to his liking. He has split his career in Ireland racing over hurdles and fences, and won a chase at Naas just under two years ago. He will have no problem with the underfoot conditions.

Halpha Soleil is our other runner in the race, and will be re-united with his regular rider Emma Smith-Chaston, who won on him twice last season. Halpha Soleil put up his best effort yet for the yard when last seen 193 days ago, when winning by five and a half lengths, for which he has been raised 5lb. He is entitled to need this first run back, but there should be more to come this season.

Halpha Soleil. (It probably wont be quite as warm on Wednesday.)
