WE NEED THE RAIN TO STAY AWAY.

We have three declared runners at Uttoxeter on Tuesday, where two of our representatives would find a dry evening beneficial. The going at the time of writing is good.

Getaway Jewel took advantage of the good ground, and a lifetime low handicap mark at Fakenham last time, when getting his head in front for the fifth time. He is totally ground dependable and if he does get suitable conditions then the 5lb rise should be within his compass. Getaway Jewel runs at 8.00.pm, in the 0-100 handicap chase, over two miles, with his regular rider Brian Hughes on board.

We are doubly represented at 8.30.pm, in the 0-100 handicap hurdle, over the extended one mile and seven furlongs. Piecederesistance swerved his intended engagement at Market Rasen on Sunday when rain of biblical proportions fell just prior to racing. Piecederesistance his best race to date over hurdles on his latest start 37 days ago when finishing second, and can now race from 1lb lower mark. He is is a hard puller and a lot will depend on how well he settles and travels in the race, he will once again have the services of Brian Highes in the saddle.

Ambassador is our other runner in the race. He is a Uttoxeter specialist having won at the track on four previous occasions, the latest just under a year ago from 11lb higher than now. Since that win he has raced a further nine times over hurdles and has failed to match that form, although his third at the track on his latest start last month was a step back in the right direction. Ambassador who wouldn't be inconvenienced by some rain will be ridden by Joshua Thompson who was on board for that last win.
