The going at Hexham at the time of writing is soft, heavy in places, and judging by the weather forecast it is difficult to know how it will be riding come 3.20.pm, on Saturday.
We are doubly represented in the 3.20.pm, a maiden hurdle over two and a half miles. Trouble Shooter has raced on three occasions since arriving at the yard in July, this five times winner is yet to find his feet for us, finishing down the field twice on the flat, and weakening from three out up at Perth on his latest start 16 days ago. He finished third at Southwell for his previous yard back in June which earned him a BHA mark of 103, which would see him be competitive here.He will find heavy, or soft ground not to be a problem, as he is proven on both, Conor Farrell who was on board last time retains the ride.
We are also represented in the race by Who's The Guv'Nor who ran with promise on his latest start at Hexham over two miles 39 days ago, when staying on from a long way back to finish third, 19 lengths off the winner. This step up in trip to two and a half miles will be in his favour, with Alain Cawley retaining the ride. His run at Market Rasen when he was second back in May would probably be good enough to take this contest, but the going could be an unknown.
