WE ARE RACING UNDER BOTH CODES ON TUESDAY.

Where we send two up to Newcastle for their jumps meeting, on what is predicted to be heavy going, and two down to Southwell, for their evening all weather flat card.

Both of our runners at Newcastle will contest the 0-100 handicap hurdle, over the extended two miles, at 3.50.pm. Polisud who will be ridden by Emma Smith-Chaston, was racing for the first time since wind surgery over this course and distance 19 days ago, and ran his best race yet for us, when pleasingly staying on into a seven and a half lengths third. If he can build on that he will be very competitive, as he is now 23lb below his opening British BHA mark from January 2023.

Our other representative in the race is Monty Nevett, who will be ridden by Conor O'Farrell for the first time. He made his stable debut in the same race as Polisud 19 days ago, when never getting competitive. His stand out piece of form for his previous yard, was when finishing a half length third over this course and distance in a novices hurdle in May of last year, on good ground. Whether Monty Nevett can handle heavy ground is yet to be proved, as all of his best form is on a sounder surface.

Storm Spirit will have her second start on the flat at 5.30.pm, at Southwell, in the novices stakes, over 12 furlongs, with Andrew Mullen taking the ride. Storm Spirit has shown ability when being placed in two of her bumper starts on the all weather at Newcastle, before making her flat debut over 10 furlongs at that track, when finishing fifth in maiden company 12 days ago. This trip will probably suit her better, as she continues her education.

Mintnthat was in top form for his previous yard in January, when winning twice over a mile, the latter from 3lb below now. He made his stable debut for us at Southwell seven days ago, when weakening from over one out, over one mile and three furlongs. He now drops back to his favoured one mile, and there is no reason to think that he isn't still in top form. Mintnthat runs at 6.30.pm, in the 0-62 handicap, with Aiden Brookes retaining the ride.
