UCCELLO HAS HIS BEST CHANCE YET TO GET HIS HEAD IN FRONT.

We send two runners to Beverley on Tuesday where the going at the time of writing is good to firm, good in places, and they are watering.

Both of our representatives will go head to head with 10 others at 4.15.pm, in a 0-60 handicap over 12 furlongs. Elena De La Vega had her fourth start on the flat at Redcar 19 days ago on her handicap debut when finishing 11th of the 12th runners. She has yet to show any real meaningful form, and will now step up in trip by a further two furlongs, with Billy Garritty taking the ride. Elena De La Vega has been unlucky with the draw on this occasion, and will have extra work to do from stall 12.

Our other runner in the race is Uccello who has been given the plum draw in stall 1, and provided he gets away well he should be well placed throughout the race. Uccello has been a quirky customer in the past but it is difficult to find fault with his latest effort at Hamilton 19 days ago when only giving best inside the final furlong to finish a two and a quarter lengths fourth. That race was over an extra furlong than now, and this drop down in trip could prove to be the key, as he meets the winner of that race on 2lb better terms, with Andrew Elliott retaining the ride.
