TWO UP TO AYR ON MONDAY.

We send two up to Ayr on Monday where the going at the time of writing is good to soft, soft in places.

Foster'sisland continues to pay the price for his consistency and previous performances, as was shown when running another honest race to finish fifth at Wetherby 12 days ago. The handicapper has relented slightly by dropping him 2lb, and the drop in class by two grades will do no harm either, as Foster'sisland will carry top weight. The race is a 0-120 handicap hurdle, over the extended two and a half miles at 3.50.pm, with our conditional jockey Joshua Thompson in the saddle for the first time, taking off a massive 10lb.

Our other representative at the meeting is the six year old mare Howzat Hiris, who in both of her starts this season has struggled to match her excellent third at Wetherby back in March of last year. Howzat Hiris would probably appreciate some rain, as she is much more about stamina than speed. The race is a 0-100 mares handicap hurdle over three miles at 4.25.pm, with Joshua Thompson who will take off 10lb, in the saddle for the first time.
