TWO TO NEWCASTLE ON TUESDAY.

We have declared two for Newcastle on Tuesday where the going at the time of writing is good to soft, good in places.

Visite Officielle was last seen on Boxing Day at Wetherby when finishing third, and although that form has not worked out, Visite Officielle took a step in the right direction, and showed once again, as she did on the flat last season, that she has tremendous enthusiasm for racing. She goes to post for the 1.30.pm, a novice hurdle over two and a half miles, with Emma Smith-Chaston retaining the ride. This slight step up in trip will help, and following the run she will be eligible for a handicap mark.

Westy Fox made his yard, debut for us when finishing a very promising third at Catterick 69 days ago, that was his first run in around seven months since arriving from Ireland, and was a big step up on his previous chase form. Westy Fox was a winner in Ireland over hurdles on heavy ground back in January 2021, and providing that he handles what could be the quickest surface he has yet encountered, he should be competitive from 1lb higher mark than last time. The race is a 0-110 handicap chase, over the extended two miles and seven furlongs, with Conor O'Farrell retaining the ride.
