We send Just Jean to Newcastle on their tapeta surface, which is predicted to be standard to slow, and we send The Resdev Way down to Southwell, on the fibresand.
The four year old filly Just Jean will contest the 10 furlongs 0-60 Class 6 handicap at 1.40.pm, from a mark of just 46, with our apprentice jockey Aiden Brookes able to take off a further 7lb. This will be Just Jean's fourth visit to Newcastle, on her two runs at the track last season, she would be in with an each way shout, but she does have a difficult draw in 12 to overcome.
The Resdev Way faces four tough looking opponents over at Southwell in the 7.30.pm, a 0-70 handicap over 14 furlongs. This will be his 14th race at the track, on a surface we know he can act on. He is also returning to what is probably his ideal trip nowadays, he can also race off a mark of just 55, which is 6lb below his last winning mark in May 2019. He is now also 26lb below his best ever rating achieved in March 2018, over this course and distance, Paula Muir will take the ride, having won on him on three occasions in the past.
