TWO RUNNERS AT WOLVERHAMPTON ON FRIDAY EVENING.

The Retriever gave indication at Southwell on his latest start 22 days ago that he will be winning at some stage again this season, when finishing a four and a quarter lengths fifth. He is still 4lb above his last winning mark which makes life more difficult, but he generally runs his race when in form, which is a big advantage especially at this level. He goes to post for the 6.0.pm, a 0-55 handicap over seven furlongs, with Aiden Brookes retaining the ride.

We also take the Frankel gelding Uccello down to Dunstall Park where he will contest the 8.0.pm, a 0-55 handicap over 12 furlongs, with Aiden Brookes retaining the ride. Uccello showed very little in four starts as a three year old for his previous yard, and in a further four starts, including twice over the jumps he has fared no better so far for us. He ran down the field at Newcastle over their extended 12 furlongs when last seen 27 days ago, and he must settle better if he wants to get involved this time, he can now race from a 4lb lower mark.
