We send two up to Redcar on Saturday where the going is currently described as good to firm, and they are watering.
Irv has found his form in recent races, and although he doesn't retain anywhere near the ability that saw him win twice at York back in 2019 he still is capable when things fall right. He goes to post for the 4.05.pm, a 0-70 female amateur jockeys handicap over 10 furlongs, with Becky Smith who won on him at Beverley in July retaining the ride. He has raced once since then at Catterick 12 days ago when finishing a respectable third on his first try at 12 furlongs. This step back down in trip should be in his favour. and having Becky on your side in this type of event is never a bad thing.
Myboymax owes nobody anything, as he always gives his all every time, and this season alone he has already won twice and finished second on four occasions. At Nottingham 18 days ago he finished a brave fourth from an 8lb higher mark than he had ever raced off before, and in being beaten six and a quarter lengths it appears that he could now be in the handicappers grip, but there is no doubt that once again he will give his all, this time from 1lb lower mark. The race is 0-85 handicap over his favoured 14 furlongs with Aiden Brookes retaining the ride.
