They wouldn't want too much more rain at Cartmel before Monday, as the going at the time of writing is already heavy.
Buto has been a revelation this season, with a win, and two places to his name in his last three starts, which were all on good ground. His few runs on a much softer surface were before he found his current form, so whether he will appreciate heavy going is an unknown. He runs at 3.20.pm, in the 0-100 handicap hurdle, over two miles and six furlongs, with Josh Thompson who was on board when the combination won at Hexham in May, in the saddle.
Burnage Boy has been running well both on the flat, and over hurdles of late, without still being able to get his head in front. His current mark of 73 is within his capabilities, especially with Josh Thompson able to claim the full 10lb. He has form on soft, but with such a light weight, the heavy ground would be in his favour, if he enjoys it. He runs at 5.0.pm, in the 0-100 handicap hurdle, over two miles and one furlong.
