We have runners at two meetings on Saturday, where the going at Catterick is currently described as soft, and down at Newmarket, it is good, good to soft in places.
We welcome a new face at 4.40.pm at Catterick, when the four year old filly Ring Fenced makes her stable debut in the 0-75 handicap, over 12 furlongs with Aiden Brookes taking the ride. Ring Fenced was purchased out of the Andrew Balding yard, having got off the mark on her penultimate start in an all weather handicap back in January, she was then a creditable fifth on her most recent start at Southwell later that month.
Piecederesistance is now a very well handicapped horse, being 9lb below his last winning mark at Pontefract last season. Piecederesistance is a hard puller and can make life difficult for himself on occasions, and in similar company at York last time he was keen early, but was staying on at the end. This race is over a furlong shorter, but as always the key is to get him to settle. The race is a 0-80 Amateur Riders handicap race, over nine furlongs, with Becky Smith in the saddle.
