The going for Ripon on Tuesday is currently good and they have watered to maintain.
Alaskan Wind drops into selling company for the first time since joining us four runs ago. She has been very disappointing on all those starts, including last time at Doncaster when she probably didn't enjoy the first time visor. Just because the race is a seller it does not necessary mean it is a weaker event, although there is more chance of taking on horses who have more than there fare share of problems. As sellers go this looks tough with two of the opposition bringing above average form for the grade in to the race. The race is over 10 furlongs at 2.00.pm, with Aiden Brookes retaining the ride.
Our other runner is Merlin's Gold who goes in the last race at 4.45.pm, in a 0-60 handicap over two miles, with Duran Fentiman on board for the first time. Merlin's Gold raced three times as a two year old but wasn't mature enough to do himself justice, he also showed nothing on his first start at three earlier this month. In first time cheek pieces, and on his all weather debut at Newcastle 11 days ago he showed his first signs of ability when finishing third over their extended two miles. This race looks tougher, and Merlin's Gold will have to improve again if he is to take a hand in the finish.
