We send three up to Newcastle on Tuesday evening, for their all weather meeting, on the Tapeta surface, which is currently described as standard.

We will be doubly represented in the first at, in the 0-65 apprentice handicap, over 12 furlongs. Irv who is now eight years old returns from a 127 day break, with Jonny Peate on board for the first time. Irv who can boast two wins at York as a three year old, has yet to place in six starts on an all weather surface, and this trip would be probably as far as he would want to go, but with a season of all weather and turf racing ahead, this run will blow away any cobwebs.

Art Of Romance is our other representative in the race, and he will be partnered by Aiden Brookes, who was also on board for both his other starts for us, since arriving at the yard last autumn. Art Of Romance has finished third and seventh in both runs for us, and will now take a significant step up in trip. His sire is a Group 1 winning sprinter, but there is hope on the Dams side, as she was placed over 12 furlongs at Haydock as a three year old, in 2014.

The yards longest residing resident Quoteline Direct, who is now 11 years old, and is the veteran of 86 starts, including winning first time out at Pontefract on July 17th, 2015, returns to contest the, which is a Classified Stakes, over a mile, with Aiden Brookes taking the ride. Quoteline direct is returning after 142 days off the track, in what will be his first run over a mile since August 2019. In recent seasons he has shown his best form on the all weather, particularly over longer trips around Wolverhampton, where no doubt we will see him again at some point.
