We have one runner on Tuesday at Catterick where the going at the time of writing is soft.

The Retriever returns from a near nine weeks break when he goes to post for the, a 0-50 Classified Stakes over seven furlongs, where he will be partnered by his regular jockey Aiden Brookes.

The Retriever is the winner of two of his 25 all weather starts, and he has also finished second on a further seven occasions, but in 13 attempts on turf he is yet to place, and he has never run on ground as soft as this. His current all weather mark of 56 puts him in with a big shout here, but his turf mark of 44 probably tells the truth of his task here. On the plus side The Retriever loves to run prominently and his draw in stall 1 is a big plus for those tactics.
