Strike West is more than capable on his day, and was at the top of his game when having his season brought to a premature end because of lock down back in March. He won his final start of last season at Catterick over their extended three miles and one furlong in soft ground, which folowed on from a respectable forth at Sedgefield in February. His other run of note last season was 11 months ago at Haydock where he was just robbed on the line by Buster Edwards, going down by a neck.
He runs in the 12.10.pm where the going is heavy, soft in places, at the time of writing. Billy Garritty who rode him at Haydock in December last year will be back in the saddle.Strike West pulled up in October on his seasonal debut, but has always needed a race to put him straight, the trip on this occassion is an extended two miles and six furlongs, which would probably be a minimum for him, but stamina will come more in to play on this surface,he remains 4lb above his last winning mark.
