We send two up to Musselburgh on Tuesday where the going at the time of writing is good, good to firm in places.
Sparkle In His Eye has been one our most consistent performers this year having already won on four occasions, including last time out at Musselburgh, where he was winning on the turf for the first time. That race was over seven furlongs, but I get the feeling that this step up to nine furlongs could bring around further improvement still, from a 3lb rise in the weights. He goes to post for the first at 1.50.pm, in a 0-65 Apprentice handicap with Aiden Brookes retaining the ride.
In the closing event at 5.15.pm, our Frankel gelding Uccello runs in the 0-50 Classified Stakes over the extended 12 furlongs, with Andrew Elliott retaining the ride. Uccello remains his own worst enemy, and once again over this course and distance last time let his temperament get the better of himself. There is no doubt that when Uccello gives of his best, as he has shown on occasions, then a race of this type is within his compass.
