With no significant rain the going for Catterick on Friday remains good, good to firm in places at the time of writing.
We send two to the North Yorkshire track, with the ultra consistent Myboymax first up at 12.45.pm, in the juvenile hurdle over the extended one mile and seven furlongs, with Alain Cawley taking the ride. Since making his stable debut for us back in June Myboymax has run on eight occasions, winning twice, finishing second twice, third three times, and fourth once, which saw his mark climb from 50 to 64. The fast surface will not be a problem, and there are no stamina issues, so if he takes to hurdles, an exciting season is in prospect.
Our other representative is the four year old gelding Monaghan Boy who makes his racecourse debut at 3.35.pm, in the bumper over the extended one mile and seven furlongs, with Alain Cawley booked for the ride. Both the sire and the dam of Monaghan Boy never saw a racecourse, but the dam's sire Darsi was the winner of the French Derby back in 2006, and is a good source of National Hunt horses, Monaghan Boy is her first racecourse representative. His sire Court Cave is a son of the legendary Sadlers Wells, and is a constant producer of high class jumpers.
