KNOCKNAMONA DECLARED FOR CARLISLE ON MONDAY.

Knocknamona who is one of The Rat Pack Racing Clubs horses, is our sole runner at Carlisle on Monday, when he lines up at 3.30.pm, in the Northern Lights quaifier. The trip of two miles and four furlongs is his optimum distance, and the predicted heavy ground is essential to him.

He is the winner of four chases and two hurdles since arriving, having been purchased out of the Irish point to point field in the autumn of 2016. His golden period occured when winning four handicap chases back to back in 62 days, between November 2017, to January 2018, going from a mark of 83 to 109.He was just getting back in to full swing last season when the lock down curtailed his season, with his last run coming at Catterick in January, when being badly hampered at the first, causing him to unseat.

He returned to action at Hexham 15 days ago, and although pulling up, the race will have done his fitness the world of good, he may well need this race as well, but he is becoming a well handicapped horse again. His regular jockey Alain Cawley is still out injured, so Becky Smith will ride him for only the second time.
