Justforjames who had finished second in this corresponding race two years ago went one better under an excellent ride from Becky Smith at Cartmel on Saturday afternoon.
Justforjames has struggled to be competitive in six starts since last November, which has seen him drop 22lb in the weights, but with Becky having him closer to the pace from the start, it helped keep his mind on the job. This was the 18th occasion that Becky has ridden the horse, and there is no doubt that knowing Justforjames inside out paid dividends.
