Sunday sees the third and final day of the 'Go North Finals Raceday's,' series, where lower grade horses get the chance to win a big prize. and both of our runners on Sunday at Carlisle are entered in £30,000 guaranteed events.
Knocknamona couldn't go in to his race in better form having won his last two starts, including over this course and distance 34 days ago, for which he was raised a further 4lb. The heavy ground conditions are perfect for the 12 year old, who should be staying on up the hill when others have cried enough. The race is 'The Go North Monet's Garden Series' handicap chase at 3.35.pm, over two and a half miles with Conor O'Farrell retaining the ride.
Westy Fox takes his chance at 4.45.pm, in the 'Go North Red Rum Series Final' handicap chase over the extended three miles, where Conor O'Farrell once again rides. Westy Fox has only ran twice for us since arriving from Ireland last autumn. His eye catching third at Catterick in December was his first start in almost seven months, he was then a solid third over possibly a trip that stretched his stamina at Sedgefield 12 days ago, and hopefully he wont find this race coming too soon.
