We have one runner on Saturday afternoon when Irv goes to post for the 5.45.pm, a 0-70 handicap over one mile, where he will be re-united with Aiden Brookes who finished second on him at Pontefract last May. The going at Thirsk is currently good, good to firm in places, and they are watering.
Irv ran a cracker on his seasonal debut over this course and distance two weeks ago when keeping on inside the final furlong to finish a four and three quarter lengths fifth behind his stablemate Carnival Zain on his first start in nearly seven months, from a 2lb higher mark than now. If Irv can build on that then his chance is obvious, but his chance is certainly compromised by having the worst of the draw, coming out of stall 16.
