Ripon stage their Great St Wilfrid meeting on Saturday, where the going is currently described as good, good to soft in places.
Irv will make his 46th racecourse appearance when going to post for the 4.25.pm, which is a 0-60 handicap over the extended nine furlongs, with his regular rider Aiden Brookes in the saddle. Irv came close to breaking his seasonal duck at Nottingham on his penultimate start, when going down by just a head, and he has since finished a staying on fourth at Musselburgh eight days ago, This stiffer test should suit, as for the fourth consecutive time he runs from the same mark of 55.
