GRAND DU NORD & ROYLE STEEL OUR RUNNERS ON FRIDAY.

Ian Ender

We have declared two for Doncaster on Friday, where the going is currently good, good to soft in places.

Grand Du Nord will take the first step in getting his career back on track when contesting the three miles, 0-110 novices handicap hurdle at 4.0.pm, where he will be partnered by Conor O'Farrell. Grand Du Nord was second at Hexham last May, but since returning to action this season things have not gone right. Following a fall on his first run back, he then blundered his chance away on Boxing Day at Wetherby, and on his most recent start 62 days ago he scoped dirty post race, and now after a break he returns on a mark of 104.

Royle Steel who was an 80/1 winner at Sedgefield 13 months ago, came back to form on his second start this season when finishing a solid third at Catterick, for which he has been eased a 1lb. Royle Steel is ground dependant, and anymore significant rain would scupper his chances. His race is at 4.40.pm, in a 0-115 handicap hurdle over two miles and three furlongs, where he will be partnered by Emma Smith-Chaston.
