GETAWAY JEWEL TO MAKE STABLE DEBUT.

We send one runner to Market Rasen on Thursday when Getaway Jewel makes his stable debut for us in the 3.03.pm race, over the extended two miles. The race is for professional, and amateur lady jockeys only, and Becky Smith will take the ride.He has shown very little to date, but this will be only his fifth start over hurdles, and his first handicap, for which he has been allotted a mark of 98.

GETAWAY JEWEL. 28 April 2014. Getaway-Fada's Jewel. Owner-Mkjp Racing.

Getaway Jewel is bred to be a staying chaser, he is out of a Witness Box mare, who only ever ran in two Irish points, finishing down the field on both occasions, back in 2012. His sire, Getaway was a dual Group 1 winner in Germany, and France, over 12 furlongs, but could stay two miles.

Getaway Jewel has so far raced exclusively for the Greenogue, County Meath trainer J T R Dreaper, starting out in a point to point at Tyrella, in January 2020,being sent off the 2/1 favourite, and coming home in seventh, beaten 28 lengths. He has raced under rules, over hurdles, on four occasions, between two, to two and a half miles, starting out in July, in a maiden at Bellewstown, when once again finishing seventh, he was prominent to two out, before weakening, he was beaten 36 lengths, but did record a Racing Post rating of 81. His other three efforts were not as good, as he failed to get competitive, but he arrives at Oakwood Stables with a handicap mark, and very little mileage on the clock.
