We have two runners at Pontefract on Tuesday at their seasons opener, where the predicted good to soft, soft in places going, wont be a problem for either of our representatives.
Myboymax is first up at 2.0.pm, in a 0-75 apprentice handicap over 12 furlongs, with his regular jockey Aiden Brookes in the saddle. Myboymax has been the model of consistency over the last two seasons, and made the perfect start on his return at Wolverhampton in December when winning for the fifth time, but since then in three starts he has failed to get competitive. This return to turf, and to Pontefract, where he has been placed on both previous runs, could spark a revival.
Our Frankel gelding Frankelio returns from a 111 day break to contest the 5.05.pm, a 0-70 handicap over a mile, where Aiden Brookes retains the ride. Frankelio can go well fresh, and returned in this corresponding race last year from a 10lb higher mark than now, to finish a three and three quarter lenghs sixth. He was also a winner here at Pontefract back in June 2020, after being off the track for eight months.
