We send three to Newcastle on Saturday where the going at the time of writing is good, good to soft in places, and one to Haydock where it is heavy, soft in places, on the chase course.
King Of Unicorns makes his hurdles debut at 12.0.pm, in the two miles novices hurdle. King Of Unicorns left his previous form well behind when winning easily at Newcastle 30 days ago on his third start in bumper company under Billy Garritty, who retains the ride. King Of Unicorns is very well related, with five of his siblings also being winners including two who on the flat both reached marks above 100, as well as Aqalim who over hurdles was just below the very best with a BHA rating of 152 at his peak.
Brickadank makes a quick reappearance, just nine days after finishing sixth at Newcastle over two and a half miles. That was a below par effort coming after the promise of his second place finish back in October at Carlisle. He now steps back down in trip to two miles with Becky Smith back in the saddle in the 12.30.pm, a 0-100 handicap hurdle, he will have no problem with the ground conditions.
Profiles Mix has his second start at 3.25.pm, in the juvenile bumper over one mile and six furlongs with Becky Smith retaining the ride. Profiles Mix unfortunately let his temperament get the better of him on debut at Aintree six weeks ago when playing up at the start, and then being too keen in the race, so in the circumstances he didn't do too badly to finish a 22 lengths seventh of the nine runners.
We also have a runner at Haydock where the ex Irish Dis Donc makes his stable, and British debut in the four runner Class 3 novices chase at 12.20.pm, with Henry Brooke taking the ride. Although a 12 race maiden over fences when trained by Noel Meade in Ireland, he has shown above average form, having being placed on three occasions, and arriving at the yard with a BHA rating of 123, he is also the winner of two bumpers when trained as a three year old in France, and he is also a winner of a maiden hurdle at Naven in 2018.
