FIVE RUNNERS AT MARKET RASEN.

enquiries0700

We have five runners at Market Rasen on Thursday, where the going at the time of writing is soft good to soft on the chase course, and good to soft, soft in places on the hurdles track.

Piecederesistance will face four rivals in the first at 12.15.pm, in the 0-110 conditional jockeys handicap hurdle, over the extended two miles, with Joshua Thompson on board for the first time. Piecederesistance ran with credit on his penultimate start at Fakenham in October, but at Wetherby on his latest start he was too keen and paid the price by weakening from over three out. If he settles better this time he will be competitive, and any drying out of the ground would be a plus.

Walk My Way ran her best race on her latest start at Hexham back in March, when finishing a staying on second. That run proved that a win should be not too far away, but of course she is entitled to need this first run back. The going will pose no problems, and it is to be seen whether she will appreciate this step up in trip of three furlongs. Walk My Way runs at 1.45.pm, in the 0-100 handicap hurdle, over two miles and seven furlongs, with her regular rider Emma Smith-Chaston in the saddle.

Another horse stepping up in trip is Onenightintown who has looked in recent runs that at the age of 10, that he is ready for the step up. He was in the form of his life last season, winning at Catterick in February, before going on to finish second at Market Rasen later that month, from a 2lb lower mark than now. Onenightintown goes to post for the 0-105 handicap chase, over the extended two miles and seven furlongs at 2.15.pm, with Alice Stevens retaining the ride.

Brickadank was a 36 race maiden under all codes until he finally got off the mark over course and distance back in February, he then proved that was no fluke when following up at the same track a month later, from a 3lb lower mark than now. Brickadank is entitled to need this first run back in 260 days, but all conditions are in his favour. He runs at 2.48.pm, in the 0-100 handicap chase, over two miles and three furlongs, with Brian Hughes retaining the ride.

He's A Diamond is a five year old gelding who makes his rules and stable debut in the bumper at 3.23.pm, over the extended two miles, where he will be partnered by Brian Hughes. He's A Diamond has run in two Irish point to points at Dromahane to date, finishing runner up on the second of those back in April. He is the first offspring of his Kayf Tara dam, who finished runner up in a bumper back in 2015. His sire is a proven source of high class National Hunt performers.
