DRAGONS WILL RISE CONTINUES ON THE COMEBACK TRAIL.

We send two runners up to Newcastle on Thursday evening for their all weather meeting, under the floodlights, on the Tapeta.

Storm Spirit who has run with great credit on both of her two bumper starts at Newcastle, will now make her flat debut, also on the Tapeta, at 5.0.pm, in the 10 furlongs maiden fillies stakes, where she will be ridden by Billy Garritty, who was last on board, on her debut run in February of last year, when the combination finished second. Storm Spirit will be giving weight and age to nearly all of her rivals, some of whom are very well bred, but there is no reason why she shouldn't make up in to a really nice flat horse.

Dragons Will Rise who was the winner of eight of his 26 starts before succumbing to injury in the summer of 2022, has gradually shown improved form on each of his three runs since his return in December, particularly at Newcastle last time, when when finishing a four and three quarter lengths seventh of the eight runners, over a trip short of his best. He is now 9lb below his last winning mark of 77, when he goes to post for the 7.30.pm, in the 0-70 handicap, over a mile, with his regular jockey Aiden Brookes in the saddle.
