CARNIVAL ZAIN TO ATTEMPT THE HAT-TRICK.

We have two runners at Pontefract on Friday evening, where the going at the time of writing is good to firm, which will not present a problem to either of our representatives.

Carnival Zain took the whole of last season to acclimatise after arriving from France, which saw his mark drop from 77 to 64 in six races. His winter break has seen him come back bouncing, after finishing second on seasonal debut he has now won his last two starts, which has seen his mark climb back up to 72. This will be harder than last time at Thirsk because of the extra 4lb he now carries for winning that race, but Carnival Zain is on top of his game at the moment. The race is a 0-75 handicap over one mile at 6.30.pm, with Billy Garritty who won on him at Catterick in April back in the saddle.

Our other runner is the admirably ultra consistent Myboymax who goes to post for the 0-75 handicap over 12 furlongs at 8.0.pm, where he will be partnered by his usual jockey Aiden Brookes. Myboymax was a winner for us twice last season, as well as being placed on a further five occasions. He has returned this year in the same form where after finishing third on seasonal debut, he has gone on to finish runner up on all of his next three starts. Unfortunately the handicapper continues to penalise him for his consistency by raising him another 2lb for his latest effort. This race rates a really good opportunity for Myboymax to get his head back in front as he faces just three rivals.
