We have one runner at Thirsk on Wednesday afternoon, on what is described as good to firm, good in places ground.
Carnival Zain has been a tremendous servant to the yard winning on five occasions, including at Ascot very nearly three years ago. He made an encouraging seasonal debut at Thirsk in May when finishing a close up fourth, but from a more advantageous draw two weeks later he was a disappointing eighth. There were excuses at Ripon last time when he failed to get a clear run, and he now finds himself 5lb below this seasons opener.
Carnival Zain runs at 4.03.pm, in the 0-70 handicap, over seven furlongs, with P J McDonald on him for the first time.
