We send three runners up to Newcastle on Friday, where the Tapeta surface is expected to ride standard to slow.
Burnage Boy continues to struggle to get involved at the business end of his races, and he looks like he is set for another struggle in this company if he cannot find a personal best from somewhere. He has failed to get involved on either of his other two appearances at Gosforth Park, but this does appear to be his trip. The race is a 0-55 handicap at 1.05.pm, over 12 furlongs, with Billy Garritty riding him for the third time.
Musicality was a winner off 87 at Newmarket in 2020, and was also an excellent second at this track over six furlongs exactly a year ago, but he lost his way on his last three runs after that for his previous yard, and in three further starts since joining us he has yet to fire. His mark is now in free fall, and he will run off 67 here. At Thirsk last time he weakened from over one out, but he probably found the mile stretching his stamina. He runs at 3.25.pm, in a 0-70 handicap over seven furlongs, with Robert Havlin on board for the first time.
Frankelio was possibly an unlucky loser over this course and distance last time when finding himself short over room just over one out, but to his credit once he saw daylight he was keeping on to the line. At Wetherby back in June on his seasonal debut he also showed that the ability is still there when finishing third over a mile from 4lb higher mark than now. The race is division 2 of the seven furlong 0-70 handicap at 4.01.pm, where he will have the added advantage of Robert Havlin in the saddle.
