Belle Na Bann backed up her recent win at Newcastle, in similar conditions at Catterick on New Years Day, when keeping on well for a two and three quarter lengths success under the in form Emma Smith-Chaston, who was riding her fourth winner from her last nine rides.

Emma didn't waste any time in making it five winners from her last 11 rides, when the classy flat performer Justus opened his account on his second start over hurdles. Justus who has been rated in the mid 80's on the flat, looks a natural over hurdles, and undoubtedly was the best horse on show at Catterick on the day.
Emma Smith-Chaston still claims 3lb, but that wont last for long on recent evidence, and there is no doubt that she will go right to the top, if other yards give her the support she receives at Micky Hammond's.
