AN ACROSS THE CARD DOUBLE.

THE VERY THING 66/1 WINNER!!!!!!!

DRAGONS WILL RISE 16/5 WINNER!!!!!!!

The Very Thing who was having only his fourth start over fences, but 23rd start in all finally came good at Catterick on Thursday afternoon under Becky Smith when coming clear on the run-in for a three lengths victory. There is no doubt that the first time application of a visor has made all the difference, by doing it's job by helping the horse to keep his mind on the job. It of course also helps that The Very Thing is now an exceptionataly well handicapped horse being 23lb lower than when he finished second over hurdles back in March 2020.

It isn't the first time that I have written that Dragons Will Rise has taken his form to a new level, but once again at Newcastle on Thursday afternoon he showed that there is still plenty more to come. Dragons Will Rise has now won seven of his last 11 starts, five of them with today's winning jockey Robert Havlin in the saddle. Dragons Will Rise was a late developer, and didn't win until his 11th start at Newcastle in March 2020 from a mark of 49, but he has just continued to improve ever since. His latest win was from his highest mark yet of 71, as he showed that the will to win still burns strongly.
