Applaus was a yard favourite, who had a touch of class, especially in his younger days, when winning on his second start at Wetherby in December 2015, in a bumper by 13 lengths. He also showed above average ability over hurdles earning a best BHA rating of 120 in February 2017, and although he only ran over fences, under rules, on six occasions, and winning once, he achieved a BHA best mark of 121, in March 2018.
Applaus provided the yard with one of it's proudest ever moments when leading home the first three on March 29th, 2018, when beating his stable mates Caroline, who was second, and Roxyfet who was third, for a stable one, two, three, in a 0-120 handicap chase at Wetherby.
Applaus now joins the list of horses who are no longer with us, but have given us wonderful memories, and unforgettable moments that we will always cherish, and continue to talk about in the years to come.
